The Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) warns the public against the website www.banque-eni.com (link is external).

www.banque-eni.com (link is external) (cloned firm) has usurped the identity of the credit institution Banque Eni, which is authorized by the National Bank of Belgium (NBB) and has its registered office at Guimardstraat/rue Guimard 1A, 1040 Brussels (Crossroad Bank for Enterprises number 879.995.183).

The website www.banque-eni.com (link is external) is thus not the official website of the credit institution Banque Eni that is authorized by the NBB.

The FSMA emphasizes that there is no connection between these two firms. Identity theft is typical of 'cloned firm' fraud: fraudsters steal the identity of persons or firms that do in fact exist (such as a lawyer, an authorized company, etc.) in order to gain credibility or even legitimacy, and thus to convince investors.
