The total active U.S. rig count, which includes those drilling for natural gas, declined by one to 759, according to Baker Hughes. Oil prices continued to trade higher. October West Texas Intermediate crude CLV22, +3.06% was up $3.41, or 4.1%, at $86.95 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
