Peloton, UnitedHealth expand relationship to double the number of people eligible for Peloton App membership

Peloton Interactive Inc. PTON, -1.61% and UnitedHealth Group Inc. UNH, +0.41% said Wednesday that they have expanded their relationship, to more than double the number of people who could be eligible for a Peloton App Membership. Health insurer UnitedHealth said 10 million of its UnitedHealthcare commercial members may be eligible for a one-year membership, or receive a three-month waiver toward a Peloton All-Access Membership as part of their health benefits. And UnitedHealthcare members in most states will receive preferred pricing on certain Peloton fitness products, including the Peloton Bike, Bike+ and Tread. Peloton’s stock has plunged 73.0% year to date while UnitedHealth shares have gained 4.1%. The S&P 500 SPX, +0.48% has dropped 19.1% this year.
