Biden tight-lipped on Breyer retirement: 'I'll be happy to talk about it later'

President Joe Biden on Wednesday declined to speak at length about reports that said liberal Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer is retiring, though he joked about nominating Cummins CMI, +1.54% CEO Tom Linebarger. “There has been no announcement from Justice Breyer. Let him make whatever statement he’s going to make, and I’ll be happy to talk about it later,” Biden told reporters, as the president hosted a meeting about his Build Back Better plan with 10 private-sector executives. “Want to go to the Supreme Court, Tom?” Biden added. Linebarger laughed and then said, “I’m just going to demur on that one.”
