EIA reports a weekly U.S. natural-gas supply climb of 125 billion cubic feet

The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported on Thursday that domestic natural-gas supplies rose by 125 billion cubic feet for the week ended Oct. 7. That compared with the average analyst forecast for an increase of 123 billion cubic feet, based on a survey conducted by S&P Global Commodity Insights. Total working gas stocks in storage stand at 3.231 trillion cubic feet, down 126 billion cubic feet from a year ago and 221 billion cubic feet below the five-year average, the government said. Following the data, November natural gas NGX22, +3.09% was up 8.7 cents, or 1.4%, at $6.522 per million British thermal units. Prices traded at $6.389 before the supply data.
