Gold futures declined for a second straight session on Wednesday to settle at their lowest in almost two months. Prices extended their losses as the dollar eased back, but remained higher for the week, in the wake of Tuesday’s unexpected rise in the August U.S. consumer price index. December gold GCZ22, -0.80% fell $8.30, or 0.5%, to settle at $1,709.10 an ounce on Comex. That was the lowest most-active contract finish since July 20, FactSet data show.
