Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said Thursday he expects the chamber will begin voting on Democrats’ $739 billion climate, healthcare and tax legislation on Saturday. Known as the Inflation Reduction Act, it was introduced last week by Schumer and Sen. Joe Manchin, a West Virginia Democrat. The measure needs 50 votes to clear the chamber, but one key Democrat, Arizona’s Kyrsten Sinema, has not yet said how she’ll vote. She has voiced concerns over the bill’s push to close the carried interest loophole, though analysts believe that effort will be dropped. Chris Krueger of Cowen Washington Research Group said in a note it’s possible a final Senate vote could come late Sunday night or early Monday morning. House passage could follow sometime next week, he said.
