The Big 3 stock market indexes have all turned negative in afternoon trading Friday, but market internals are suggesting the overall market is still rising. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -1.16% slid 217 points, or 0.7%, to reverse an intraday gain of as much as 130 points; the S&P 500 SPX, -0.87% declined 0.4% but was up as much as 0.9% earlier; and the Nasdaq Composite COMP, -0.82% fell 0.2% after being up as much as 1.4% earlier. Meanwhile, the number of advancing stocks outnumbered declines 1,732 to 1,247 on the NYSE and 2,538 to 1,530 on the Nasdaq exchange, while advancing volume represented 53.8% of total volume on the Big Board and 53.5% of total volume on the Nasdaq.
