U.S. stocks opened higher Friday, with major indexes finding support as investors weighed remarks by Russian President Vladimir Putin and continued to monitor Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.35% rose 268 points, or 0.8%, to 33,442, while the S&P 500 SPX, -0.01% rose 0.7% to 4,290 and the Nasdaq Composite COMP, -0.39% gained 0.8% to 13,237. Futures were lifted ahead of the opening bell after Russian President Vladimir Putin told his Belarusian counterpart that he had seen “certain positive shifts, negotiators on our side tell me,” in talks with Ukraine.
