Stocks open lower after hot January CPI reading

Stocks opened lower Thursday, with the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite leading the way lower after January inflation data came in hotter than expected. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.11% fell 247 points, or 0.6%, while the S&P 500 SPX, -0.34% shed around 1% to 4,541. The Nasdaq COMP, -0.45% fell 1.4% to 14,292.
