Tech selloff puts Nasdaq, S&P 500 on track to take out 2022 closing lows

Continued pressure on tech and tech-related shares killed an attempted bounce by the Nasdaq Composite a day after the index ended at its lowest in more than two years. The S&P 500 SPX, -0.71% also turned lower, on track for a fifth straight losing session in the final hour of trading Tuesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.12% was clinging to a gain of 7 points, or less than 0.1%, after rising more than 350 points at its session high. The Nasdaq sank 1.4% to 10,392 after ending Monday at its lowest since July 2020. The S&P 500 was off 0.9% at 3,580,on track to take out its 2022 closing low of 3,585.62 set on Sept. 30.
