Tesla Cyberquad ATV recalled after failure to comply with federal safety standards

The Tesla Cyberquad for Kids all-terrain vehicle (ATV) by Radio Flyer was recalled, as it failed to comply with federal mandatory safety standard requirements for youth ATVs. The recall affects about 5,000 units of the model number 914, which have both the Tesla “T” and Radio Flyer logos printed on the batteries, and were sold exclusively online at Tesla Inc.’s TSLA, +0.65% “shop.tesla.com” in December 2021 for $1,900, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s website. The ATV’s were made by China’s Feishen Vehicle Industry Co. Ltd. and imported by Radio Flyer. There has been one report of an incident involving the Cyberquad, in which the single-rider ATV tipped over when driven by an 8-year-old child and a 36-year-old adult, resulting in a bruised left shoulder to the adult. Radio Flyer said consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Cyberquad and contact Radio Flyer for a full refund.
