U.S. stocks opened lower on Tuesday, raising the possibility of a fifth day in the red as the Nasdaq and S&P 500 traded near their lowest intraday levels in more than two years. Investors’ risk appetite remained subdued on Tuesday as they awaited inflation data, minutes from the Federal Reserve’s September meeting, and the start of third-quarter earnings season, set to begin later in the week.
