U.S. stocks opened mixed Friday, S&P 500 and Nasdaq trade down


U.S. stocks opened mixed Friday, with the technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite COMP, -1.34% and S&P 500 SPX, -0.27% trading lower, as investors continue to digest expectations for a more hawkish Federal Reserve ahead of March inflation data due out early next week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.40% was up slightly before dipping into negative territory, according to FactSet data, at last check. High growth and tech stocks are viewed as more vulnerable to rising rates. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note TMUBMUSD10Y, 2.715% was up about 5 basis points Friday morning at around 2.71%, FactSet data show, at last check.
