United Parcel Service Inc. UPS, +0.36% said Tuesday that of the more than 100,000 employees it plans to hire for the holidays, at least 60,000 will be hired in the coming weekend. The package delivery giant said its “UPS Brown Friday” will start Nov. 4, and will include more than 450 in-person and virtual hiring events. The jobs UPS is hiring for are seasonal delivery and commercial driver license (CDL) drivers, warehouse workers and driver helpers. UPS’s stock, which was indicated up about 1% in premarket trading, has lost 14.1% over the past three months, while the Dow Jones Transportation Average DJT, +0.06% has lost 7.2% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.39% has slipped 0.2%.
