Of the 65 components in the top 3 Dow Jones indexes, all were trading lower in the wake of disappointing consumer inflation data. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -2.65%, which is down 730 points, or 2.3%, was seeing all 30 components lose ground, led by the 3.8% drop in Nike Inc.’s stock NKE, -4.60% and the 3.7% fall in Dow Inc. DOW, -4.67% shares. And all 20 members of the Dow Jones Transportation Average DJT, -2.52% were falling, led by the 3.5% selloffs in shares of both JetBlue Airways Corp. JBLU, -5.05% and Ryder System Inc. R, -3.82%, as the Dow transports sank 2.1%. For the Dow Jones Utilities Average DJU, -1.05%, which slid 1.1%, the biggest decliner was American Water Works Co.’s stock AWK, -2.10%, which was down 1.8%.
