President Joe Biden is proposing a new rule that would require airlines and travel websites to provide better disclosures about certain fees, according to a White House statement on Monday. “Under the proposed rule, airlines and travel search websites would have to disclose upfront — the first time an airfare is displayed — any fees charged to sit with your child, for changing or cancelling your flight, and for checked or carry-on baggage,” the White House said. Biden is slated to discuss the rule at an event at 4: 15 p.m. Eastern.
