New radio campaign for Wikifin.be

Wikifin.be is launching a new radio campaign today. This financial education portal, maintained by the FSMA (Financial Services and Markets Authority), is intended to provide neutral, reliable and practical answers to questions on money matters. To help inculcate the reflex that ‘If you have a money-related question, surf the Wikifin.be website’, a humorous radio campaign has been developed. Various day-to-day aspects of finance are addressed in radio spots. They point listeners to the practical tools available on the Wikifin.be site.

Since its launch on 31 January 2013, Wikifin has developed a number of different tools to help Belgians manage their finances. The tools available on Wikifin.be include:

  • simulators: the savings account simulator enables you to calculate the amount of interest offered by most savings accounts available on the Belgian market; the real estate simulator provides a good estimate of the cost of a real estate project and its monthly impact on one’s portfolio;
  • calculators: a savings calculator, that helps users determine the monthly amount to save in order to finance the purchase of their dreams; an inflation calculator, in order to determine the value your money will have in the future;
  • quizzes to test your financial knowledge, and specifically in the areas of investments and pensions;
  • checklists identifying important points to keep in mind, for example, when renegotiating a mortgage loan or when selecting new investments;
  • Wikifin’s advice on matters such as combating fraud or on correctly filling in the tax return.

To encourage consumers to think of Wikifin.be whenever they have a money-related question and to use the practical tools available on the website to help them with their finances, Wikifin.be is launching a campaign on the main Belgian radio stations to run between 5 and 18 May 2014. An internet banner campaign will supplement the broadcast of radio spots.

Wikifin.be continues to gain in popularity. The site has already had around one million hits. The savings account simulator (386,000 hits), the pension quiz (100,000 participants) and the real estate simulator (53,000 simulations since its launch at the Batibouw Salon in February) are among the most frequently visited pages on the site.
