Reliance Steel promotes president Karla Lewis to CEO

Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. RS, +2.59% on Tuesday names Karla R. Lewis as CEO after James D. Hoffman steps down on Dec. 31. Hoffman will remain on the company’s board will serve as senior adviser to the CEO until December, 2023 when he will retire. Lewis has worked for Reliance since 1992, including finance chief from 1999 until early 2021. She has been a director and president of Reliance since January 2021. Shares of Reliance Steel are up 12.7% in 2022, compared to a 24.2% drop by the S&P 500 SPX, -0.75%.
