What are atypical transactions, as defined in the anti-money laundering legislation?

The FSMA is launching a series of animated films (available in French and Dutch only) about the rules intended to combat money-laundering and terrorist financing. The films are intended to help insurance intermediaries to apply these rules correctly.

Via these new films, the FSMA seeks to raise the awareness of insurance intermediaries active in the field of life insurance of the risks they may encounter regarding money laundering and terrorist financing.

This film (available in FrenchDutch only) focuses on atypical transactions and their analysis. It evokes the importance of the obligation to notify the Financial Intelligence Processing Unit (CTIF-CFI), which is the cornerstone of an effective system to combat money laundering and terrorist financing.
